World War II Era Coins
America's World War II-era coins disappeared long ago and are rarely seen today. Fortunately, we were able to assemble a few sets of 1942-1945 Pennies and Nickels - the coins that symbolize America's greatest fight for freedom and liberty. Each World War II set includes one coin from each year of issue, including special "emergency" coins:
- 1943 Steel Lincoln Penny - the first and only steel coin in U.S. history
- 1944 and 1945 Lincoln Pennies - made with copper from recycled shell cases
- 1942-1945 Silver Nickels - the only Silver Nickels in history
