The Widow's Mite: The Coin that Inspired Jesus!

According to the account in the Bible, Jesus saw a poor widow give "two mites" to charity, leaving her with no money. He claimed that she was actually the most generous of all people, because she "did cast in all that she had, even all her living." The coin, now known as the "Widow's Mite," was the smallest Jewish coin in the Holy Land 2,000 years ago. Each coin was struck by hand from solid bronze. This fascinating coin holds an important place in both Jewish history and Christian belief - since the Widow's Mite that is mentioned in twice in the Bible's New Testament.

This Silver Vine Cross pendant has been hand set with an authentic ancient bronze pruta, known for centuries as the "Widow's Mite". The shining sterling silver setting features a beautiful etched 'Vine of Life' pattern to highlight and complement this historic ancient treasure. The setting has been hand-fitted so the entire coin is visible. This makes a stunning piece for both men and women. This sterling silver pendant measures approximately 1"L x 3/4"W. Don't forget to add the 24" Diamond Silver Rope Chain to perfectly display your pendant (1803029)
