Victorian Veiled Head Gold Sovereign XF
Turn of the Century Victorian Gold Sovereign
Very few Kings or Queens have ever had an entire historic era named after them, but England's Queen Victoria gave name to the entire Victorian Era! Gold coins bearing her regal portrait were struck during all 64 years of her reign, but among the most sought after are those which feature her final official portrait. The mature monarch is shown in a widow's veil (following the death of her beloved husband, Prince Albert) while the reverse of the coin bears the famous image of St. George & the Dragon. These Extremely Fine condition Victorian masterpieces come directly from a European bank hoard and are a fitting tribute to one of history's greatest monarchs.
