America’s World War II-era coins disappeared long ago and are rarely seen today. Fortunately, we were able to assemble a few sets of 1942-1945 Pennies and Nickels – the coins that symbolize America’s greatest fight for freedom and liberty. Each World War II set includes one coin from each year of issue, including special “emergency” coins:
• 1943 Steel Lincoln Penny – the first and only steel coin in U.S. history • 1944 and 1945 Lincoln Pennies – made with copper from recycled shell cases • 1942-1945 Silver Nickels – the only Silver Nickels in history
