In 2006, the U.S. Mint introduced a new “Burnished” edition of the classic Silver Eagle Dollar. This 2008 “Burnished” Silver Eagle is the third Silver Eagle in the West Point Mint burnished series. Each coin was struck on a special planchet at the West Point Mint using coin dies that were sandblasted with a fine mixture of sand and glass beads. The result is a unique finish that is different from the regular and Proof Silver Eagles. Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
