1926 American Independence 150th Anniversary Half Dollar (AU)
Item # 1803054
In 1926, while the Roaring Twenties were in full swing, Americans paused to honor the 150th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The many lavish ‘Sesquicentennial’ events that year included the striking of this Silver Half Dollar Commemorative. The obverse features overlapping portraits of George Washington and then-president, Calvin Coolidge, but it is the Liberty Bell design for which this coin is best known. The large, proud sculpting of the Liberty Bell, along with the dual dates 1776 and 1926 make this Silver Half Dollar one of our most important commemorative coins. About Uncirculated (AU) condition.
