In 2000, China introduced a revolutionary new series of silver coins celebrating the Chinese New Year. Each coin features the year’s unique zodiac animal symbol… and the coins are the first in the world to be made in the shape of a traditional Chinese fan. This 2005 issue honors the extremely popular Lunar Year of the Rooster! The reverse of each year's coin depicts a different section of the Great Wall of China – the only man made structure which is visible from outer space! The obverse depicts the Lunar animal for 2005, the Rooster.
