1920 Pilgrim Tercentenary Silver Half Dollar (AU)
Item # 1802980
Every schoolchild learns the inspiring story of the Pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock. Massachusetts after their harrowing journey to the New World. In 1920, as the nation observed the 300th Anniversary of that historic landing, this special silver half dollar was issued to honor this momentous occasion. The obverse of this coin depicts the Plymouth Colony’s governor, William Bradford in a Pilgrim hat and carrying a bible under his left arm. The coin’s reverse captures a wonderful image of the Mayflower – the ship that became immortal after delivering the Pilgrims safely to their new homeland!

Many of these silver half dollars were spent by desperate Americans during the Great Depression, which makes finding gem uncirculated examples very difficult. But we have secured a very small quantity of these 1920-dated classics in highly-detailed About Uncirculated (AU) condition which we are proud to offer today at a very reasonable price.
