One of the most famous figures in American history, Benjamin Franklin, also used his talents to produce some of the earliest currency in this country. Ben Franklin collectibles in general are highly prized and extremely pricey. We are excited to be able to offer two currency notes printed by Ben Franklin, a 20 Shilling and 50 Shilling note. Both were legal tender in Delaware almost 250 years ago with the 20 Shilling note printed in 1758 and the 50 Shilling note in 1760. During this particular series, there were only 4 different denominations from the 20 Shillings to 50 Shillings produced. Most were destroyed before the Revolutionary War to protest British rule. The 50 Shilling note boasts two-color printing (red and black) and an unbelievable low serial number – 200! This note is in Fine Condition. The 20 Shilling note is in an unbelievable Extremely Fine condition, an exceedingly rare grade for this note! We only have one of each, so call today to secure your piece of American history! Each is custom-framed using museum-quality archival UV protected plexiglass and housed in a protective mylar sleeve within the frame.
