1923 $1 Silver Certificate (Very Fine)
America's Last 'Horse Blanket' $1 Bill
Back in 1923, the U.S. government introduced the last large-size $1 bill - a beautiful Silver Certificate that's about 50 percent larger than today's currency. In addition to its unusual large size, it was also one of the last currency notes to be backed by a real Silver Dollar in the U.S. Treasury. At the time, the bearer of the note could actually exchange this $1 Silver Certificate for the Silver Dollar. This is a fascinating collectible and an impressive piece of American currency history.
